Fashion Without Borders Africa in Johannesburg for 2023 #macburnersa


Johannesburg - Friday 10 February 2023: Announced the 9 th Johannesburg leg of the Fashion Without Borders Africa season, Kabisoso says despite the years of disruption, bdue to Covid-19 season, the fashion industry is slowly beginning to find its feet again.


“Facilitating for a platform that can allow for Access to a powerhouse of AFRICAN YOUNG DESIGNERS and continued connection is our number 1 goal. Fashion Without Borders Africa intends to change the status quo and can only do this through partnerships, and conversations that will build solid foundations for sustainability in the long run. By forming partnerships on projects, businesses in the fashion and textile industries can reach their full potential, save money, and create something innovative.



With the intention aimed at reaching the Fashion Designers in African regions, with underdeveloped fashion scenes to give them access to the wider market in the African continent, this year’s Fashion Without Borders Africa hosted a blend of new talent, emerging and established names, with a talent list that comprises;

This year Fashion Without Borders Africa is collaborating with Artyli Gallery in celebration of diverse African talent and creativity, (still to confirm others)................................. Such partnerships are what contribute towards the multi-billion-dollar industry; by creating jobs for designers, models, beauticians, make-up artists, producers, textile designers, manufacturers, event organisers, and more.



Fashion Without Borders Africa is more than just a fashion show, but also a lifestyle event that includes pop-up stalls, industry-related workshops, and opportunities that will allowed people to interact with both local and SADC region designers. The partnership selections takes advantage of opportunities available for the fashion, textile, and clothing industry which have an enormous potential to transform lives, particularly for women and young people. Bakwena-Kabisoso says Under the theme ‘SUSTAINABLE FASHION - For Your Authentic Self’, our aim is to highlight / shine light on issues that are important to the growth of the Fashion scene in Africa.
